The Thomas Theyer Lodges at Whitehall

White Hall is one of the country’s leading Outdoor Education Centres. Activities available at in its grounds include:

  • Zip wires
  • Net climb
  • High and low ropes
  • Mountain biking on a purpose built single track trail
  • Rock climbing on the indoor climbing wall
  • Orienteering
  • Camping
  • Problem solving/initiative activities

Activities out of the centres ground include:

  • Rock climbing
  • Kayaking
  • Canoeing
  • Abseiling
  • Rock scrambling
  • Stream/gorge scrambling
  • Orienteering
  • Caving
  • Hill walking
  • Mountain biking
  • Improvised rafting

Accommodation is in the main house and due to the age of the building its design means there are lots of stairs and corridors to negotiate and groups are accommodated in dormitories sleeping 6 & 8 students.
The aim of the Thomas Theyer Lodges is to provide accommodation for groups needing separate facilities, so that all children and young people can benefit from an outdoor education experience. Also families, carers and other groups can visit the centre for respite breaks & and simply enjoy the area.
