Trustee

When Thomas died, in July 2013, I was 16 and just about to start at sixth form college in the September.  I found going to college very difficult at times and suffered with anxiety and panic attacks.  In addition to helping other young people, like my brother, part of what we hope the foundation will be able to do is to support young people who are experiencing difficulties, such as anxiety, which may be for a variety of reasons from study stress to loss.  I finished my A levels and then went to university where I completed a degree in Neuroscience and Masters in Brain Imaging.  I am now studying my PhD as a part of the Project NeuroSync team at the University of Nottingham.

We hope, as a family, that the Thomas Theyer Foundation can help many young people in the future and their families.  I have lots of friends who have helped at events, such as the annual Buxton Carnival Race, now held in Thomas’s name and this means a great deal to me.  There is nothing that replaces my brother but doing something good in his name helps.
