Volunteering with TTF
There are many reasons people volunteer, from wanting to ‘give something back’, to meeting new people, boosting their CV following study or to get back into work following a period of absence. Young people can volunteer as part of their Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) Award.
Volunteering can be ‘hands on,’ such as helping at our charity shop and at our various events, or it can be to help by providing skills and expertise, to support with projects or charity development.
Whatever the reason you might be interested in volunteering, you can expect a warm welcome. Volunteers receive a thank you voucher when they help at events and shop volunteers receive 10% discount on shop items.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help on a regular basis at our shop and office, as well as for ad hoc events.
SHOP VOLUNTEER
We are looking for volunteers who can work ½ day shifts or full days.
Volunteering at the shop works well for DoE students. Rather than volunteering 1 hour per week we ask you work a block of hours on a Saturday –morning or afternoon.
Our shop is located at 1, London Road, Buxton and sells only Sports and Outdoor clothing and equipment. It is a unique shop which we are very proud of. Call in and take a look.
EVENTS VOLUNTEER
Join our volunteer group and receive notifications of up-and-coming events where we need help, from cake sales and market stalls, to marshalling at races and stewarding at our annual Lake of Lights event held each December in memory of loved ones lost.
We hold up to 12 events each year.

ADMIN VOLUNTEER
We are looking for an admin assistant to help at our office and counselling space. Applicants must be able to use the Microsoft Office suite and have good organisational skills.
There is the potential this could lead to a job for someone who may be interested in something permanent.
Hours of work can be flexible for the right person, but we are looking for a minimum of 5 hours per week. Subject to funding this would increase to 15 hours subject to funding.

SPECIALIST SUPPORT
MARKETING
Could you or your business provide marketing support to help us develop our charity brand image and increase engagement with the wider community.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
We are looking for someone to up-date our Health and Safety policies and procedures and carry out relevant staff training.
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
We are looking for someone with a background in Special Educational Needs to sit on our committee and help develop signposting information.
