Chinley 3 Peaks 30th July 2023

We would like to thank Brian who has kindly offered to organise the event for the Thomas Theyer Foundation.
The Chinley 3 Peaks is a running and walking event, with the aim of raising funds for Thomas Theyer Foundation.
Registration is at the Old Hall and the start/finish is at the Paper Mill (next to the Old Hall), Whitehough, Chinley. The event takes in the summits of South Head, Chinley Churn (Big Stone rather than the trig point) and Eccles Pike with the participants choosing the best route between them based on the map provided. Approximate distance 9.5 miles depending on which route you choose.
There will be checkpoints at the summits of South Head, Chinley Churn and Eccles Pike – you can visit the summits in any order, you can also choose to do just one, two or all three, though you have to do all to be in with the chance of a prize.
There will be prizes for the fastest male and female. Plus, spot prizes and awards for light hearted things such as the brightest clothing.

The race venue is at the Paper Mill, Whitehough, Chinley, High Peak, SK23 6EJ.
There will be toilets and refreshments at the start and finish and water and snacks at the checkpoints. Included in the entry fee is a pasta meal when you finish. Serving will be from midday. Please inform us of any dietary requirements.
There will be free parking nearby, please ask a marshal outside the Old Hall where to go. Note: No responsibility will be taken for personal possessions left at the venue.
Walkers can start between 08.15am and 9.15am, Runners start between 9.00am – 10.00am
Registration opens at 08.15am
Pick up race numbers on the day.
Race Limit – 200
Minimum Age – there isn’t one, if under 16 you will need to be with an adult, families are most welcome.

There are no discounts for not having food.
There are a few basic rules:
Use only public rights of way, be courteous to other members of the public using the paths etc. check in and have your checkpoint card clipped at each checkpoint and let us know if you drop out.
You must take a charged phone; this is for safety.
Where possible, record your run/walk on an app e.g., Strava, map, my Run, etc. or take a photo of yourself at each of the checkpoints. Download to Facebook or website.
